OCLAA promotes Oromo cultures and traditions. Irreechaa is an Oromo Thanksgiving and Cultural Festival day, celebrated by the Oromo people across the world. Members of OCLAA, their families, and friends celebrate this holiday in Los Angeles in solidarity with all Oromos in Oromia and elsewhere.
Irreechaa is uniquely Oromo holiday and one of the main cultural identities that define the Oromo people. It is celebrated at the end of September or early October every year. The biggest celebration of Irreechaa takes place at sacred lakes of Hora Finfinnee and Hora Harsadii in Oromia.
