Welcome to the Oromo Community of Los Angeles and Area (OCLAA) web page!!  OCLAA is a non-profit organization established by Oromo immigrants residing in the greater Los Angeles region.  The Oromo are descendants of the Kush people, native to East and Horn of Africa. The Oromo people largely reside in Oromia region of Ethiopia and northern Kenya, with an estimated population of over 50 million. The Oromo people have their own indigenous language, culture, tradition, way of life, and democratic governance system.
